Explore natural options for Bartholin cyst through homeopathy.
Bartholin abscess or cyst is the buildup of pus that forms a lump (swelling) in one of the Bartholin glands. These glands are found on each side of the vaginal opening. The natural options for Bartholin cyst may prevent it from returning.
Causes
A Bartholin abscess forms when a small opening (duct) from the gland gets blocked. Fluid in the gland builds up and may become infected. Fluid may build up over many years before an abscess occurs.
Often the abscess appears quickly over several days. The area will become very hot and swollen. Activity that puts pressure on the vulva, and walking and sitting, may cause severe pain.
Symptoms
- A tender lump on either side of the vaginal opening
- Fever
- Pain with sexual intercourse
SELF-CARE STEPS
Soaking in warm water four times a day can ease the discomfort. It can also help the abscess open and drain on its own. However, the opening is often very small and closes quickly. Therefore, the abscess often returns.
HOMEOPATHIC TREATMENT
There are many remedies in homeopathy which can be used to treat this and may avoid surgery. Since homeopathy works on individualization, it will be useless to give names of remedies as a remedy which worked on one person may not work on you.
It’s mostly a recurring problem. To prevent recurrence, you may need a constitutional homeopathic remedy selected by taking all of your symptoms and your personality into account. Whatever the treatment maybe, whether acute or constitutional, you will see some improvement within 12-24 hrs. The most common symptoms that are looked at for deciding the correct homeopathic remedy are:
- Location of the abscess
- Its color
- Any discharge, if so, its color, smell, thickness etc
- Any pain, if yes, what makes it better or worse
- Any fever, if yes, its details
